The Fleeting World

Sometimes I wonder why I write, often at five o'clock in the morning--the only time I find peace and quiet in a home with two young girls. Come seven o'clock I get the children up for school (and occasionally the wife up for work) and another frenetic, chaotic day.

I write to preserve a bit of this world that changes so quickly, the fleeting world that is the title of this blog. I write to capture its colors and sounds, smells, tastes and textures. I write to make sense of it all, or as T.S. Eliot put it:

We shall not cease from exploration

And the end of all our exploring

Will be to arrive where we started

And know the place for the first time.

Finally, I write to open a conversation with others. Please feel free to join in.
